The food tastes and looks incredibly juicy and good! Sadly, as we went there they hadn‘t had any ribs so we had to pick the brisket, which was a great choice anyways. Cold chlorine free water is also available, which is to appreciate.
edit: thanks, the free ribs were great😁
I've been wanting to go to this place for a while now, but I don't know, but it just did not hit the spot for me to start off by saying the beef brisket was good. that was the best dish my far. The rest was I don't know kind of a disappointment for me. The pork ribs were not tender at all. Then, temperature wise, they were not hot. They were room temperature kind of dry as well. I like my ribs falling off the bone, not undercooked. They were hard to eat, and the Mac&cheese was on point. That was good. The beans were a little too sweet for me. I also got over the cheddar jalapeno sausage that one was good. Now, the wait time can be a little bit needed. Patient parking parking is another situation, and then, if you're on a budget, the stuff is not cheap. It's $20 for half a pound of brisket and $50 for one beef rib. Like wow Now I understand this is the Bay area, but still, that's too dam expensive.
Best BBQ I’ve had in the bay. And I’m from Dallas so that’s saying a lot! We came at 2:30pm on a Sunday and ate amazing pulled pork and brisket on the outdoor patio. Also had amazing Mac n cheese and cornbread. Everything tasted hot, juicy, and fresh. Not expensive with good portions. My only nit is that the servers moved pretty slow, but I forgive that given the quality of the meal.
What better way to spend a Friday afternoon in the summer? The line was out the door so we definitely needed patience but the food was spot on and worth the wait. The brisket, Mac & cheese, and smoked cheddar jalapeno sausage were everything I dreamed of from the first time I saw social media posts of Matt Horn's BBQ.
The brisket is way too dry for the price it cost. The BBQ sauce is just bottled sauce with water added to thin it out. I'm assuming they make the corn bread in large quantities and freeze until ready for use. You could tell it was nowhere near fresh. Giving 2 stars because the mac and cheese was pretty good. Over all the plate was nowhere near worth the $37 price tag.
The barbecue is worth the wait! The pulled pork was honestly the best I have ever had. Everything was delicious. Some of the best barbecue around!
There aren’t enough superlatives to describe the food, let alone the experience.
Will the lines be long? Yes. Will you have to make small talk with neighbors? Absolutely. Will you literally finish that half pound of brisket in less than 5 minutes? No doubt about it!
You feel like you are in a family backyard and the bbq is made with the same sentiment. Their excellence is in keeping things simple, authentic and consistent.
You have to go and check it out… and then you have to go again to check out the rest of the menu you couldn’t get to!
An absolutely amazing establishment with both spectacular food, service, and ambience. If you are looking for Texas BBQ in California look no further then Horn. The brisket sandwich and ribs are killer the chicken is bursting with flavor and juices. While there isn't They truly earn the Michelin Star.
